ST-1200 Line - Size 5 and 6 Studs
Special Offset Wing
This special Offset Wing Head stud is designed for use
where the standard wing head stud would be prevented from
operation because of an obstruction.
Moving the wing off the center of the stud allows for the
stud to be placed much closer to anything that might interfere
with its operation. The standard Wing Head stud
has the wing centered on the stud requiring half of the wing width
(.563" (14.30 mm) for size 5 and .625" (15.88 mm) for size 6)
clearance on all sides of the stud for operation.
With the wing offset, the required clearance on one side of
the stud is decreased to just slightly over half of the stud
head diameter.
As a result of the offset, this stud could be mounted close
to a vertical surface and still be operable. In fact, since
the operation of the stud only requires 90° of rotation,
with the proper orientation, this stud could be placed in a corner.

* is the "Stud Grip". For example,
121J-W640W14-Z3CT is an Size 6 offset wing head stud with a
"Stud Grip" of 40 (.400").
The undercut is a part of the stud which is smaller in
diameter than the stud shank. The undercut is located directly
under the head. This decreased diameter is where the retainer
fits to prevent the stud from coming out of the mounting hole.
Note: The "G"
(Grip) and "U" (Undercut) dimensions are measured to
the underside of the head.
